A Cabin in the Woods
This is one of two cabins located at Clear Creek Metro Park.
Clear Creek butts up against the Hocking River, where the prairies of the west meet the Appalachian forests of the east. Glaciers played a significant part in the creation of this beautiful area.
Dr. Edward S. Thomas, a naturalist and the Metro Park's first board of commissioners bought an 80-acre parcel of land in 1921. The pictured cabin contains five tiny rooms. From here he collected data on the area and wrote essays and over 3,000 articles for the Columbus Dispatch (local newspaper).
I will return to this scenic park as it is too vast to fathom in one post.
All the Best,
Lane
