How many Scioto's are there?!
The header image was captured at Ochsner Pond at Scioto Grove Metro Park. The ripples and the reflection of the trees made this an irresistible subject to shoot.
This 620-acre park along the Scioto River offers mature forests and scenic bluffs overlooking the river. It's popular with both kayakers and hikers. REI partnered with Grove City to create trails and five campsites.
This dogwood is not like the others that I've seen. A local friend stated "It looks like the bracts may have been impacted by the recent frosts... It also may have a blight called spot anthracnose... Much of the original forest in Ohio before other trees were imported were Maple, Ash, Dogwood, and Buckeye. Unfortunately, both the Ash and Dogwood populations have been devastated by either insects or blight."

All the Best,
